Respecting The Pastures

Dog owners – please respect the pastures to help us manage them effectively.

We have noticed that there has been an increasing amount of dog poo left on the pastures. This is often
left in bags. This can be harmful to animals. Please put your dog poo in the bins
provided or take it away with you for disposal.

No Cycling on the pastures

It has been reported that there are an increased number of cyclists using
Westwood. Please be reminded that we do not permit cycling on Westwood.
You are free to enjoy the pastures by foot.

Parking concerns on Westwood

Please be reminded that you can park for a maximum of 4 hours on Westwood.
Cars have been parking on York Road and Walkington Road particularly for
longer periods. The Pasture should not be used as a car park. Shoppers and
workers are encouraged to use the car parks in the town centre.

Dog Owners: Please keep dogs under control at all times especially near livestock.

Please remember that it is against the law for dogs to worry or attack sheep, so
please keep them under control at all times. If it is a challenge to control your dog off
lead we also suggest keeping them on a lead around cattle and horses.

Walkers – please remember to shut gates behind you

As you can appreciate at this time of year, there are a lot of cattle, horses and
sheep on the pastures. We politely remind you to shut gates behind you as we
do not want any animals escaping from the pastures.
